TOWN OF VERONA — Both drivers were hospitalized after a crash at the intersection of routes 31 and 365 Thursday evening.
Sheriff’s deputies said Marianne Macdonald, 81, of Canastota, was westbound on Route 365 at about 6:30 p.m. when she attempted to make a left turn onto Route 31. Deputies said Macdonald bypassed the vehicles in the turning lane and attempted to make her turn through red arrow light from the center lane of Route 365.
Deputies said Macdonald’s 2013 Subaru Impreza was struck by a 2014 Ram 1500 pickup truck, driven by James Kingsley, 35, of Rome. Deputies said both Macdonald and Kingsley were hospitalized.
Because both drivers were taken to the hospital right away, deputies said no tickets were issued at the scene. The crash remains under investigation.
