Boonville VFW Voice of Democracy winners announced
VFW VOICE OF DEMOCRACY WINNERS — Three students at Adirondack High School were honored as Voice of Democracy winners by the Harland J. Hennessey VFW Post #5538 in Boonville. Established in 1947, the VFW’s Voice of Democracy audio-essay scholarship contest provides high school students with the unique opportunity to express themselves in regards to a democratic and patriotic-themed recorded audio-essay. The 2022 winner for the Harland J. Hennessey VFW Post was Adirondack junior Ray Hennessey. Ray’s essay not only won the local contest, but also took first place at the district contest and advanced to the state level. John Hennessey and Savannah Schoonmaker were second and third place winners, respectively.
