BOONVILLE — The Harland J. Hennessey Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post will hold its fourth Bike-a-Thon to benefit the military rehabilitation program at the Sitrin Medical Rehabilitation Center in New Hartford.

“Sitrin’s military rehabilitation program provides comprehensive care for veterans who have post-traumatic brain injuries, depression, amputation and other combat-related conditions,” the VFW announcement said.

This year’s event, organizers say, will not be held on a single day, but rather organizers are asking participants to find a day between now and Sunday, Sept. 27, to ride their bikes a few miles for veterans.

For each mile, the post is hoping participants will contribute a dollar to benefit the military rehabilitation program

Funds raised can be forwarded to the VFW. Checks should be made out to VFW Post 5538 Bike-a-Thon and mailed to the VFW, 108 Park Ave., Boonville, NY 13309.
