BOONVILLE — A 22-year-old man was charged with having sexual contact with a 12-year-old last year.

Chief Deputy Derrick O’Meara, of the county Child Advocacy Center, said Scott Snyder, of Boonville, was taken into custody on an indictment warrant from Oneida County Court on the charge of predatory sexual assault against a child, a class A-II felony.

According to an investigation conducted by Inv. Ryan Marshall, who is also assigned to the CAC, in the spring of 2019, Snyder engaged in sexual contact with a 12-year-old while in the village.

On Sept. 4, members of the sheriff’s Warrant Unit and NY/NJ Regional Fugitive Task Force, took Snyder into custody in the village.

Snyder was arraigned in Oneida County Court where he was sent to county jail without bail.

O’Meara said the victim has been offered counseling services through the CAC.
