Boonville Earth Day events Saturday


BOONVILLE — In conjunction with Earth Day, several events have been scheduled in Boonville on Saturday, April 27, sponsored by the Boonville Environmental Council. The rain date is May 11; listen to WBRV radio station for weather cancellation.

• From 8:30-9 a.m., spring cleanup will start at the American Legion Post #406 on Schuyler Street. There will be donuts, coffee and juice for participants, donated by Post #406 and the Environmental Council, along with sign-in and check-in for your designated cleanup area. Please bring gloves, rakes, or shovels with your name on them.

• 11 a.m.-12 p.m., Arbor Day program by Byrn Davies, New York State Department of Environmental (NYS DEC), retired, and John Gates, NYSDEC arborist. A free LED bulb will be given for each family, along with a free tree for each child.

• Free Appliance Drop-off – Residents of Boonville can drop appliances off at the Transfer Site from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m., courtesy of the Solid Waste Authority, with a limit of three items per family. Washers, dryers, refrigerators, air conditioners, hot water tanks, and furnaces will be accepted. 

The Environmental Council encourages families, Scouts, and all to join in the fun and help the Earth Day cleanup efforts.
