Bookstore heralds new chapter in Rome Arts District
Keaton & Lloyd Bookshop, located in the Rome Arts District at 236 W. Dominick St., hosted a grand opening celebration last week.
Jason Tokey, executive director of Rome Art & Community Center, presented owner Julie Whittemore with the Rome Area Chamber of Commerce First
Dollar of Profit award.
Keaton & Lloyd Bookshop, LLC is a woman-owned business operated with a Reform Jewish outlook, the chamber said in
its recognition of the new
business.
Whittemore said the shop aims to be a safe place for people of all backgrounds, and carry a unique array of literature of all genres for teen and adult readers.
Nestled in Rome’s Art District, the business is locally-owned, community-oriented and plans to work with like-minded organizations that provide valuable resources in the Mohawk Valley.
“We invite you to come browse a wide array of literature for teens and adults, as well as items for children, written by members of our own community,” Whittemore said.
Store hours are 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, and noon to 5:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday. It will be closed on Sundays and Mondays.
Find Keaton & Lloyd Bookshop at www.keatonandlloyd.com and follow them on Facebook at keatonandlloyd or call 315-571-8329.
