OLD FORGE — Old Forge Library, 220 Crosby Blvd., will host a book signing party for Patti Engelbrecht from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 15.

Coffee and light refreshments will be served and Jim Tracy will entertain with acoustic music.

Engelbrecht’s debut book, “Venus, Book 1: Coming out of Your Shell and Loving Yourself,” will be available for purchase and signing. Reviewers have said the book captures the sweetness and strength of the feminine spirit. It includes heart warming story-poems and original paintings, and drawings by the author.

Engelbrecht hails from Syracuse, but is no stranger to Old Forge, having a home in town for many years. She is part of the Mountain Air Painters, a group of artists who get together to paint weekly in the area. She is represented by Gallery 3040.

After decades of twisting herself into a pretzel to please others, Engelbrecht said she came out of her shell and became the woman she always wanted to be. She shares with readers how they, too, can unlock their own shells and step out to become the best versions of themselves.
