UTICA — Registration for the Boilermaker Kids Run has started.

The free event, which is held during Boilermaker Road Race weekend in the second weekend of July, is open to all children who are four to 12 years old. The Kids Run is scheduled for 8 a.m. Saturday, July 8, at Mohawk Valley Community College in Utica as part of the Boilermaker’s Health & Wellness Expo.

The event features different distances for each age group ranging from the 1/4 mile for ages 4 to 5 years old to a mile for ages 11 to 12 years old. There is also a 1/4 mile race for children with special needs, according to a news release.

The Kids Run is limited to the first 1,000 participants.
