Boil water order remains in force in Lee

LEE — A boil water order remains in effect for much of the town of Lee as water officials there wait for word on water quality tests.

Originally anticipated to be available around 2 p.m. Wednesday, an updated time frame for results was pushed to 3:30 p.m. as the original deadline came and went.

Work began on Monday to repair a water main break, impacting residents of the town's water system from the intersection of Route 26 and Stokes-Lee Center Road south, including many of the town's largest housing developments.

The testing was performed on Tuesday, following a required 24-hour wait period after the repairs were completed.
