LEE — As of 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, the boil water order in the Town of Lee has been rescinded.
Water had been shut off for a portion of Lee residents on Monday after a water main break. While fixed quickly, tests needed to be run to ensure the water was safe and uncontaminated.
Lee Water Supervisor Josh Szyper said on Wednesday all the tests run by the Mohawk Valley Water Authority came back negative. Water main breaks can cause pathogens to get into the water supply. These illnesses can be prevented by boiling water before use.
