BOE has fifth potential candidate

The race for the Board of Education in the May 21 election has a fifth potential candidate, Lisa Herbowy of 407 Elm St.

Herbowy picked up candidate nominating petition forms from the school district business office, said the district.

None of the five potential candidates who have picked up the forms so far have filed completed petitions yet to become an official candidate. Requirements include having petitions signed by at least 100 eligible voters who live in the district. The deadline for filing completed petitions is May 1 at 5 p.m. at the district business office, 409 Bell Road.

The other potential candidates who have picked up the petition forms: board incumbents Paul Hagerty of 5 Selden Drive and Lawrence Posselt of 8691 Zircon Lane, both in Lee; Tanya Davis of 906 Franklyn St.; Felicia James-Williams of 7869 W. Thomas St.

Up for election for new three-year terms that begin in July are three board seats, including one that is currently vacant. The board has nine seats overall, and members serve as volunteers.
