Blue Sox erupt for 18 runs during Perfect Game rout of Trail Blazers

UTICA — The Utica Blue Sox scored at least a run in each of the first seven innings as they routed the Adirondack Trailer Blazers 18-6 in Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League action Tuesday night at Murnane Field.

Utica came out hot, with five first inning runs then four more in the second, knocking starter Jason Hebner out of the game.

The Blue Sox piled up 18 runs without a home run, but did hit six doubles and a triple. Nine players had at least one RBI for Utica.

Robbie Young was 4-for-5 with a double, three RBIs and three runs scored.

The lone local player in the game, Oriskany grad Ryan Enos, was 0-for-4 with a run scored for Utica.

For Adirondack, Kevin Ferror had two hits including a double and scored.

Vincent Cimini had two hits and drove in two.

Utica reliever Casey Keller came in and earned the win, allowing two hits and no runs over three innings.

Adirondack plays next at 5 tonight at home against the Glens Falls Dragons.
