ONEIDA — The Blue Jeans & Bidding fundraiser for The Arc Madison Cortland, has been moved to an online auction, according to an announcement Friday by the agency.
“Participants near and far can relax in their favorite denim from the comfort of home and bid in the silent auction,” reads a statement announcing the switch. “To register, text BLUEJEANS to 243725 or visit www.bluejeansandbidding.com.”
“Because the holidays will be here soon, the first 50 people who login receive a chance to win a liquor “basket of cheer” in addition to other amazing auction items,” the announcement adds.
“A transition to an online format made the most sense, given the current climate in regard to COVID-19,” says Susan Litera, director of development and communications at The Arc Madison Cortland. “We feel confident that the community will support our now virtual auction.”
The virtual event will now run through Friday, Oct. 22. Bidders can win a quarter-cow and chest freezer, exclusive golf outings, a lakefront vacation stay, personalized cooking, restaurant tastings, spa visits, immersive and adventure experiences, signature swag, among other itesm.

The event is hosted by Builders of The Arc Foundation; a public charity and the fundraising arm of The Arc Madison Cortland. The auction will directly impact individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities supported by the agency. Funds will be utilized for enriching programs and critical services for 1,500 people, their families, and the essential workers that support them.
