VILLAGE OF PORT LEYDEN — A Lewis County family have been displaced from their home following an Easter morning fire.
Fire officials said passersby discovered smoke and flames coming out of 3636 River Road at about 11:16 a.m. Sunday. Three volunteer fire departments responded and discovered the mobile home fully involved.
The residence and all of its contents were destroyed, officials said. An excavator was eventually called to the scene to knock down the remaining structure due to the severe damage.
No one was injured and the Frizzell family has insurance, officials said. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
The Port Leyden, Lyons Falls and Turin fire departments responded.
