The Rome Free Academy boys junior varsity basketball team earned a 67-59 home victory over Whitesboro on Friday night to improve to 16-3 on the season.
Leading the way for the Black Knights was Andrew Recco and Isaiah Kelly with 16 points each and nine rebounds a piece. Ethan Butler scored 10 points and Damion Williams dished out five assists.
RFA girls earn road win
In a girls JV basketball game, RFA went on the road and defeated Whitesboro 49-48 behind Tailyn Frost’s team-high 17 points.
Callie Ott chipped in with nine points for the 16-3 Black Knights.
Oriskany boys win pair
Both the Oriskany Maroon and White boys modified basketball teams picked up victories over Hamilton.
The Maroon team won 38-19 to move their record to 3-2.
The White team was led by Ty Zizzi with 16 points in their 47-40 win.
Harsh Bhavsar grabbed 10 rebounds and had three blocks for the Redskins, who are now 2-3.
Westmoreland wins on road
The Westmoreland boys White modified team earned a 40-13 road victory over Morrisville-Eaton.
Michael Scalise led the Bulldogs in scoring with 8 points and Carson Dean chipped in with seven points.
Mitchell Holmes added 6 points for 4-2 Westmoreland.
Bulldogs rout M-E
In another boys modified basketball game, the Westmoreland Green team defeated Morrisville-Eaton, 62-15.
Mitchell Schram scored 14 points for Westmoreland and Matthew Doyle and Josh Suber scored 12 and 11 points respectively.
Caleb Miller had six steals and Payton Livingston added six points, six rebounds and five steals for the 5-1 Bulldogs.
