Black Knights lead TVL track and field all-star selections

The Tri-Valley League girls track and field all-stars have been announced, with Rome Free Academy placing four individuals and a relay team on the first team.

Rome also placed five individuals and a relay team on the second team.

RFA’s Gianna Capoccia, Sarah Crockett, Tailyn Frost and Avery Hilderbran were named to the first team in the Colonial Division, as were the relay team members Hildenbran, Marlo Townsend, Capoccia and Emily Toth-Ratazzi.

The first team also included Caroline Deck and Sydney Mitchell of New Hartford; Kouboura Adam, Jada Lockwood and Tamiah Washington of Proctor High of Utica; and Kelsey Wands of Whitesboro. Proctor also had two relay teams named first-team, all-stars: Marquesha Ware, Sadia Adam, Kouboura Adam and Rashynaike Pulluaim; and Arafa Djouma, Sadia Adam, Kouboura Adam and Washington.

Rome also placed five individuals and a relay team on the second team.

RFA’s Paige Barone, Capoccia, Olivia Griggs, Maria Keeney and Toth-Ratazzi were named to the second team. The RFA relay team of Mia Mirabelli, Griggs, Danielle Lince and Johari Taylor was also named.

Also on the second team are Zyasia Berry, Imani Penny, Sadia Adam and Maquesha Ware of Utica Proctor; Riley Brennen, Bianca Durso and Kaylee LaCreta of New Hartford; and Jillian Brown and Madison Kozyra of Whitesboro. The Whitesboro relay team of Reannyn Weiler, Kelsey Wands, McKenna Knapp and Emily Krupski; and the Proctor relay team of Djouma, Kim Lang, Washington and Faiza Zakaria was also named.

Among the honorable mentions were RFA’s Alexis Kennedy, Alexus Lennon, Toth-Ratazzi and Maria Kenney.

In the Pioneer Division, first team spots went to Mackenzie Mix, Elizabeth Lucason, Becky Birmingham and Laura Chase of Camden; Camryn Stone, Beth Feldman and Lindsey Gravelding of Central Valley Academy; Oneida’s Julianna Elberson; and Vernon-Verona-Sherrill’s LeeAnne Lowery, Breanne Millson, Delaney Brewer and Sara Brown.

Also on the first team were the relay teams from VVS (Brown, Hailey Rose, Brianna Schoff and Millson) and Camden (Mix, Lucason, Sydney Coleman and Mary Buckingham; and Elizabeth and Morgan Lucason, Catherine Seidl and Coleman).

The second team members are Camden’s Coleman, Elizabeth Lucason, Buckingham, Seidl, Amanda Jones, Billie Mae DeWick and Hannah Crofutt; Oneida’s Maddy Mack and Cami Fields; and Sara Brown and Maddie Jones of VVS.
