Billy Joel tribute act the ‘real deal’
UTICA — Rick Zuccaro, a central New York native, will bring the hits of Billy Joel to life with his all-star band at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4, at The Stanley Theatre, 259 Genesee St.
With an all-star lineup of musicians from Upstate New York, this power-packed Billy Joel tribute concert is bound to leave the audience speechless. From the minute Zuccaro walks out on stage looking identical to Joel and the band starts to rock the house, audiences immediately realize that this tribute band is the “real deal.”
Performing crowd pleasing Billy Joel smash hits - with a few surprise arrangements - and an eight-piece band with six lead singers, this is one serious, must-see Billy Joel tribute show.
Zuccaro began his lifelong career in music at the age of nine and has recorded and performed professionally with accomplished musicians throughout New York, Los Angeles and Las Vegas. He has played at The Stanley Theatre in the past, both as a headliner and as an opening act, notably for Michael McDonald and Melissa Manchester. Zuccaro has written more than 150 songs and has released his musical portfolio aptly titled “Songs of a Lifetime.”
While Zuccaro is known for his prolific musical career, he has also made a name for himself in the central New York area for his continued generosity toward local school music departments. Over the years, Zuccaro has donated dozens of Yamaha digital keyboards to various schools throughout the Mohawk Valley in an effort to preserve and continue musical education.
The Billy Joel Tribute Show features Zuccaro on keyboards/piano/vocals, Lenny Milano on drums, Mark Bolos on guitar/vocals, Mike Galime on saxophone, Greeley Ford on bass, Scott Ruthledge on trumpet/vocals and Julia Scranton and Ron Zuccaro on backing vocals.
General admission tickets are $45.50 and are available through Ticketmaster or by calling The Stanley Theatre Box Office at 315-724-4000.
