Beta Sigma Phi Sorority holds ceremony, elects officers


Members of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, Zeta Master chapter, held a candlelit ceremony on June 4 at the home of Shirley Early on West Oak Street. President Dorothy Alexander conducted a “ritual of jewels” degree for Patricia Denton.

Vice President Betty Dyer conducted a ‘torch bearer’ degree for Marie Mastracco while Shirley Early conducted a ‘diamond circle’ degree for Pauline Romano for 60 years of service.

Each received a sorority pin, certificate, and yellow rose.

At a May 14 meeting, members elected officers for the coming year, they include:

• President Dorothy Alexander;

• Vice President Betty Dyer;

• Recording Secretary Marie Mastracco;

• Corresponding Secretary Deanne Martin; and

• Treasurer Shirley Early.
