Bench dedication in memory of Edgar Galarza
UTICA — The Rescue Mission of Utica will be memorializing one of their employees, Edgar Galarza, who passed away last year.
Galarza previously served as the Rescue Mission’s coordinator of the emergency men’s shelter.
The Rescue Mission family and all the community agencies Edgar interacted with say they were truly blessed to know such an amazing man who gave the past 14 years of his life to care for not only those in need, but his colleagues as well. Officials say Galarza’s legacy will continue because he instilled it in his staff, loved ones, friends, and the people in his care.
Galarza passed away on Feb. 12, 2021.
The City of Utica will be placing a bench in memory of Galarza at noon on Sunday, Aug. 28 at Steuben Park, across from Rescue Mission of Utica’s Enriched Living Center.
The public is invited to gather in remembrance and celebration of Edgar’s life.
Founded in 1890, the Rescue Mission of Utica is a faith-based nonprofit, multiple-service, charitable organization serving Utica and the Mohawk Valley 24/7, 365 days a year.
