THAT’S LOUD! — Girl scouts Apple Fedele and Lilly Hallenbeck, cover their ears as they stand behind the big bell as it rings at the Rome Historical Society, 200 Church St., on Tuesday as Rome Mayor Jacqueline M. Izzo and society director Arthur Simmons III look on. The four were participating in the local Bells Across America ceremony to commemorate the signing of the U.S. Constitution on Sept. 17, 1787.
