Beethoven tribute concerts planned


HAMILTONIn anticipation of the upcoming 2020 celebration of the 250th anniversary of Beethoven’s birth, Professor of Music at Colgate University Laura Klugherz, and Artist-in-Residence Steven Heyman will present the first in a four-concert cycle of the composer’s complete sonatas for violin and piano.

The first concert on Sunday, Oct. 14, at 3:30 p.m., will feature the light and playful Op, 12, No. 1, followed by the most famous of the group, Op. 24, “Spring” and will take place in Colgate’s Memorial Chapel.

The grand scale sonata in c minor, Op. 30, No. 3 will round out the program.

Laura Klugherz and Steven Heyman are celebrating their 30th year of artistic collaboration, and are delighted to celebrate that milestone with the captivating work of Ludwig von Beethoven.

The concert is free and the public is welcome.
