Be part of the solution rather than the problem

Sometime in 2022, the U.S. will mark 1 million deaths from Covid.  We have lost 780,000 to date, continue to lose around 1,000 per day, and we have the omicron variant starting to proliferate around the world.

To put this in perspective, the U.S. lost 291,000 in combat, 113,000 from other causes, and had 670,000 wounded during all of WW2. And it doesn’t have to be this way.

Our country totally botched its initial response to Covid, and today leads the world in total deaths due to Covid.

Countries like New Zealand and China pursued draconian policies, but have had 9 and 3 deaths per million respectively, while the U.S. has had 2,405 deaths per million.

But today, we have enough highly-effective vaccines for everyone – and they are free and available at most pharmacies. Unfortunately, only 59.4% of Americans are fully vaccinated – let alone boosted.

Unless you are less than 5 years old, there is no valid reason for remaining unvaccinated. If you have already survived an infection, the vaccine will boost your natural immunity. If you have already been vaccinated, get boosted.

If you still feel that vaccination is not for you, please go deep into the woods and avoid any contact with the rational people who are doing their best to eliminate this terrible disease.

I have had the disease, been vaccinated, been boosted and still wear a mask in public.

Covid is not through with us yet, but you can be part of the solution rather than the problem.
