Landlords, in New York State, if they are delinquent in paying their taxes to the municipality, after a period of three years, the municipality takes the property in lieu of taxes and evicts the tenants.
Why then, when property owners do not get paid by the tenant for 11 months of back rent, the landlord cannot evict the tenant?
This is precisely the issue, double standard of eviction, in New York State.
To the Honorable Sen. Joseph A. Griffo of Rome, landlords in New York State urgently need your help before they start filing for bankruptcies.
