VERNON — Discus Hanover won the $9,200 Open Trot at Vernon Downs Saturday. Leon Bailey and Frank Affrunti put on a show driving four winners each that night.

As they reached the stretch Star Track Hanover (Steeven Genois) came all out to challenge as Lepanto (Barton Dalious) used a late brush but neither could get close to Discus Hanover, who won easily in 1:55.4. Star Track Hanover held on to finish second. Lepanto was third best.
