Authorities: Man hurt, ticketed in head-on collision on Route 26

TOWN OF VERNON — One person was hospitalized after a head-on collision on Route 26 Thursday night, according to a report by local law enforcement officials.

Sheriff’s deputies said Theodore Milewski, 66, of Utica, was southbound on Route 26 at about 7:15 p.m. when his 2019 Sorrento drifted into the oncoming lane.

The sheriff’s deputies said the that then Sorrento crashed head-on with a northbound 2012 Chevy Sonic, driven by Elizabeth Allers, 31, of Deansboro.

Allers and her passenger were not injured, authorities said. Milewski complained of chest pain and suffered some additional diabetic issues after the crash, deputies said.

He was taken to the Oneida Health Care Center for treatment, the law enforcement officials said.

Milewski was also ticketed for failure to keep right, deputies said.

He is scheduled to appear in Town Court to answer the charge, deputies added.
