Art installation by Daniel Buckingham on display at 4 Elements


UTICA — The public is invited to view a new site-specific art installation by Daniel Buckingham at the 4 Elements Satellite Gallery at 131 Genesee St.

The window installation, called, “Secret Invitation,” represents diverse languages using the words “Search,” “Exchange,” Invite” and “Welcome.” The installation uses different colored LED lights as an important design component. Buckingham is a multimedia artist and professor of Sculpture at Pratt MWP. For more information, visit

The satellite gallery, in partnership with Resource Center for Independent Living, promotes area artists featured at 4 Elements Studio, while increasing the beautification of downtown Utica and accessibility to the arts.

The gallery features artists from 4 Elements Studio’s Arts Legacy Program, gallery and art exhibitions. The satellite gallery currently also includes works from Frank Viola, Mary Gaylord Loy, John Loy, Jim McDermid, and work from Upstate Cerebral Palsy’s Pieces of HeArt program.

4 Elements Studio is a non-profit community arts center in downtown Utica, offering artistic services and programming to artists, the community and individuals with special needs. The gallery and exhibition spaces are currently only open by appointment. For more information, visit:
