Arc, Oneida-Lewis planning to grow

UTICA — 2020 was tough for The Arc, Oneida-Lewis but it has persevered and is planning to grow.

Mark Dudek, chief communications officer at The Arc, Oneida Lewis said 2020 brought challenges to The Arc the likes they’ve never witnessed.

“But because of our dedicated, essential workforce, our services prevailed in the face of a worldwide pandemic,” he said.

2021 comes with the opening of The Arc’s latest project, Chef’s Express Bakeshop in downtown Utica.

The shop won’t just be serving treats to the public — it will also provide a training ground for the people The Arc supports to hone employment skills.

Dudek said now, more than ever, people need the Arc’s services.

“Whether it’s site-based or in the community, so many people in various ways depend on The Arc to be there for them.”

And The Arc, Oneida-Lewis is looking to grow and hire. Those interested can go online to The Arc, Oneida-Lewis website at for information.
