Annual event, fireworks mark ‘end of summer’ on Lake Delta

Posted

The Lake Delta Upland Owners Association annual Ring of Lights celebration at the lake will take place on Saturday, Sept. 3, at 8:30 p.m., followed by a fireworks show at 9 p.m., organizers of the annual end of summer celebration have announced.

The rain date for the event is Sunday.

The public is encouraged to attend the celebration, organizers added. Attendees can watch the Ring of Lights and fireworks display from the beach at Lake Delta State Park, or from a boat. Organizers ask that those who do enjoy the event from a boat keep a distance away from the fireworks barge.

The Ring of Lights celebration is an annual event organized by property owners on the lake, in which residents clear their shoreline of debris and pile the wood products for a bonfire. Each participating property lights their bonfire along the shoreline at once, creating a ring of light around the lake before the fireworks show.

The Lake Delta Upland Owners Association represents more than 80% of landowners living on the shore of Lake Delta.
