NEW BERLIN — Leatherstocking Veterinary Group is teaming up again this year with local animal shelters to help stock their shelves.
This event was put on hold last year due to COVID-19, but is usually held annually as Leatherstocking Veterinary Group reaches out to the community to gather donations to benefit Chenango and Susquehanna SPCAs, Steven Swan of Utica, and Athela’s Therapeutic Riding.
Stuff the Shelters (or Stock the Stable) collects donations from the community of much needed items that the animal shelters would generally have to purchase on their own including food, bedding, treats, and cleaning supplies.
Leatherstocking Veterinary Group consists of three small animal clinics: Marcy Veterinary, 9225 River Road; New Berlin Veterinary, and Heritage Veterinary in Cooperstown, and one large animal clinic, Leatherstocking Veterinary Service.
Leatherstocking Veterinary officials said its mission is to help strengthen the bond between pets and their owners by means of comprehensive and compassionate patient care and client care. “For longer lives and happier pets.”
Those who would like to make a donation can drop items off at any of its clinics.
