YORKVILLE —The Greater Utica Chamber of Commerce, along with its staff, board, ambassadors, and catalyst, will celebrate a grand opening and remodel of the AmeriCU Commercial Drive Financial Center with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 4957 Commercial Drive, at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17.
AmeriCU is a local, not-for-profit financial institution which first opened in 1950 on Griffiss Air Force Base. With more than 130,000 members, AmeriCU now has 19 full-service Financial Centers across Central and Northern New York. AmeriCU’s current location on Commercial Drive has been open to the public since 1999.
“This remodel has brought a new look and feel to our Financial Center after being here for almost 20 years,” said Ellen Traub, manager of the Commercial Drive Financial Center. “The new offices allow us to offer our members a more professional, private experience and our waiting area is much more open and inviting.”
“We’re able to offer more services, more convenience, and more value to the members in our community,” said Nicholas Cray, vice-president of Member Relations and Marketing. “It’s right in line with our credit union philosophy of keeping the member first, so we’re thrilled that you can experience that here.”
