Amazon delivery station to open in 2021
EAST SYRACUSE — Amazon Logistics will open a new 112,000-square foot delivery station at 6834 Kirkville Road in the first half of 2021, the company said, announcing the timetable for the massive facility.
Delivery stations power the last mile of the order fulfillment process. Packages are transported to delivery stations from Amazon fulfillment centers, are sorted, and then loaded into vehicles for delivery to customers.
The delivery station will create hundreds of full-time and part-time jobs, paying a minimum of $15 per hour, the company said. Information on positions and the Amazon hiring process are online at https://www.amazon.jobs.
Amazon has more than 150 delivery stations in the U.S.
“We are excited to continue to invest in New York State with a new delivery station that will provide efficient delivery for customers and create job opportunities for the talented workforce,” said Amazon Spokesperson Emily Hawkins.
“During these challenging times, Onondaga County is proud to show that we continue to be open for business,” said J. Ryan McMahon II, Onondaga County executive. “It is important, more than ever, to ensure that our neighbors have access to high quality jobs as we continue our economic recovery.”
