Pair accused of shoplifting at Yorkville Aldi, police say
YORKVILLE — A Utica woman was charged for the second time in one week for theft following a larceny at the Aldi on Oriskany Boulevard on Thursday, according to the Yorkville Police Department.
Police said Andrea R. Gonzalez, 49, and Jasmine M. Cepeda, 25 — both of Utica — were caught on security cameras shoplifting from the Aldi around 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 23. Police said the pair were identified and taken into custody later that day.
Gonzalez and Cepeda are both charged with one count each of petty larceny, police said. They were released on appearance tickets to Yorkville Village court.
Meanwhile, New York Mills Police said Gonzalez was taken into custody on Saturday, June 18 following a theft from Walgreens on Commercial Drive. She was also charged with petty larceny, police stated, and that case remains ongoing.
