Adirondack scores three times in the ninth for victory


ALBANY — The Adirondack Trail Blazers used a three-run ninth inning to earn their third Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League victory of the season with a 3-1 win over the Albany Dutchmen at Siena Field on Thursday.

Matthew Valin picked up the win on the mound, striking out three and walking three in two innings. Kyle Cashman went seven innings and allowed six hits.

Chuck Hooker went 1-for-4 with two runs drove in and Dan Abate turned in a 1-for-4 performance with an RBI.

The Trail Blazers evened their season record at 3-3 with the win.

They return to the Robert Smith Sports Complex tonight to host the Elmira Pioneers at 7:05.
