BOONVILLE — The Adirondack Pop Warner Association, a nonprofit that supports youth athletics through football and cheerleading programs, has announced its Junior Pee Wee cheerleading team is the Eastern Pop Warner Regional Champions, winning the regional competition in Trenton, New Jersey, earlier this month.

The team — which features girls ages 8 to 13 who are students in the Adirondack and South Lewis school districts — will compete at the national level in Orlando, Florida, during the first week of December.

“The hard-working athletes on this team are depending on community support to help them achieve this incredible and well-earned opportunity,” according to the association announcement, which adds any and all donations will be greatly appreciated.

Checks to help the team defray the costs of participating in the national event can be made payable to the Adirondack Pop Warner Association (memo: cheer), or VENMO@ADKPWA. There is also a GoFundMe page that can be found on Facebook.

Several community events to benefit the cheerleaders, such as can and bottle drives, and a breakfast with Santa are planned.
