The Adirondack girls 3,200-meter relay team broke a school record at the Section III Class B-2 meet Thursday, qualifying for the Section III state qualifiers meet on June 1. Cazenovia won both the boys and girls team titles. In the B-1 meet, Westhill swept both team titles.

The Wildcats’ relay group of junior Kaylee Mathis, freshmen Cora Hinsdill, Eliana Pitts and eighth-grader Zoe Christiansen broke the Adirondack school outdoor track and field record with a time of 10:11.28. The previous record was 10:13.14. The result earned the team second place.

Overall, Adirondack finished seventh. Clinton was fourth and Holland Patent was sixth among local schools in the 11-school field.

Clinton’s Lydia DeTraglia won the 100- and 400-meter hurdles.

HP’s Alice King won the triple jump.

In the boys event, Clinton was third, Adirondack was ninth and HP was 10th out of 10 schools.

Clinton’s Cameron Maline won the 100- and the 200-meter races. Teammate Andre Jackson won the long jump.

Clinton’s 400 relay team of Jack Jacobsen, Jackson, Maline and Ronan Milne also won.

Class B-1

Vernon-Verona-Sherrill’s girls team took second place. Oneida and Camden tied for fifth and Central Valley Academy was ninth in the field of a dozen schools.

Maddie Jones of VVS won the pentathlon. Teammate Jordyn Toth won the discus. Camryn Shea won the triple jump for the Red Devils.

CVA’s Kiera Wilbur won the high jump.

The VVS 400 relay team of Mandy Chen, Grace Croft, Alexis Kinney and Cora Wheeler won. The school’s 1,600 relay team also won — Grace and Eva Croft, Leah Maguire and Kinney.

Camden’s boys team was second. CVA tied for sixth, VVS was eighth and Oneida was ninth.

Connor Dean of Camden won the 400-meter dash, the high jump and the long jump.

CVA’s Richard Grabski won the pole vault.

Oneida’s Quinn Jennings won the shot put. Teammate Jacob Marji won the discus.

The VVS 3,200 relay team of Killian Bauer, Ben Bellinger, Nathan Geroux and Fateh Syed won.
