ACCESS FCU appoints new chief information officer

CLINTON — Michael Murrock has been named the chief information officer at ACCESS Federal Credit Union, according to an announcement by Thomas L. Owens, president and CEO of ACCESS Federal.

Murrock has 35 years of experience in the bank and credit union fields, Owens’ announcement said, adding the new chief information officer has a bachelor’s degree from St. Bonaventure University and first joined ACCESS in 1996 as manager of information systems where he was responsible for managing the computer system, share draft processing and ACH operations.

During that time, Murrock implemented and transitioned the credit union to a new, state-of-the-art core banking software application. In 2001, he was promoted to vice president of operations in recognition of his efforts to advance the credit union’s operations and information systems, the announcement said.

In his new position, Murrock will continue to oversee the credit union’s technology infrastructure and information systems tools, as well as lead the credit union’s efforts to enhance its electronic product and service offerings.

ACCESS Federal Credit union serves Oneida County and the city of Oneida with branches in Rome, Camden, Clinton, Oneida and Sherrill.
