Abraham House to celebrate final ‘A View of Hope’ Gala
UTICA — The Abraham House, an organization dedicated to providing comfort for terminally ill patients at the end of their lives, will be celebrating their final ‘A View of Hope’ Gala on Friday, Nov. 4, at Union Station, 321 Main St.
The organization, with locations at 1203 Kemble St. in Utica and 417 N. Washington St. in Rome, brands itself as “a welcoming home for the terminally ill” and provides spaces for patients and their families to stay at their facilities and receive compassionate care at no cost.
“Abraham House is not an organization where people come to die, it’s a place where they and their families are able to live their final days, a place where our house becomes their home,” said Gina Ciaccia, executive director of Abraham House.
In order to provide its services, Abraham House relies on charitable donations from donors and fundraising efforts, like its upcoming ‘A View of Hope’ Gala.
“[The gala] is our signature event and this year is our grand finale,” Ciaccia said. “It’s an amazing event, it’s our most profitable fundraising event. 100% of all the proceeds go directly to providing care for our guests.”
Ciaccia cites the annual growing size of the event, the desire to keep it local and the lack of adequate facilities to keep up with the demands of the event as reasons why the upcoming gala will be the last one hosted by the organization.
Tickets for the event are exclusively available online through the organization’s website and will not be available at the door.
Pricing for the tickets are $125 for individuals and $250 for couples.
According to its website, sponsor tickets have sold out, however, individual and couples tickets are still available.
