AAA will be hosting a live, online discussion about the dangers of distracted driving on their Facebook page on Thursday, Oct. 8. The virtual town hall chat will feature several prominent speakers to highlight District Driving Month in October. The event is title “Divided Attention and Driving Distractions.”
The town hall will take place at 11 a.m. Oct. 8 at the AAA Northeast Facebook page. It is free and open to anyone wishing to take part. The speakers are Dr. Joel Cooper, of the University of Utah, who will discuss the distractions caused by in-car info-tainment systems; Michael Ellesio, AAA Northeast’s senior manager of fleet operations; Luis Rivera, director of SafeKidsCT at Children’s Medical Hospital in Connecticut, who is leading one of four national teams to develop distract driving strategies; and Pam O’Donnell, of Bayonne, New Jersey, the founder of the Catch You Later Foundation.
