A $70,000 grant for the Mohawk Valley Economic Development District is coming from the Economic Development Administration to support private capital investment and job creation in the region, according to Congressman Anthony Brindisi, D-Utica.
“Communities across the Mohawk Valley are feeling the effects of the coronavirus pandemic, and this federal funding will help give businesses in our area the tools they need to build back better,” said Brindisi said in a statement. “Groups like MVEDD are essential in the fight to strengthen our Upstate economy. I will keep working with members of both parties to bring federal dollars back to our district.”
Mohawk Valley Economic Development District Executive Director Stephen Smith cheered the action in a statement, saying, “...This support is critical in the function of our office to create jobs, to spark economic development and to sprout a continued resiliency in the Mohawk Valley.”
