69-year-old man charged with burglarizing Utica coffee shop
UTICA — A 69-year-old man has been charged with breaking into Character Coffee on Genesee Street while it was closed Tuesday night, according to the Utica Police Department.
Police said Louis Abraham, of Utica, entered the coffee shop sometime before 8:50 p.m. and stole cash and other items. Abraham left the shop before officers arrived on scene, police said.
A review of security camera footage revealed Abraham, authorities said, and he was located a short distance away and was taken into custody.
Abraham is charged with third-degree burglary and petty larceny, police said. He is scheduled to appear in Utica City Court.
