100 golfers compete in Rome Sports HOF Scramble Golf Tourney
The Rome Sports Hall of Fame held its 29th annual Scramble Golf Tournament on Saturday at Rome Country Club.
A total of 100 golfers competed in three divisions. The divisions were American, National, and Co-ed.
In the American Division with a score of 59 was Team Korpela consisting of Jim Korpela, Kevin Coe, Carl Tardugno and Matt Vitalone. Placing second with a score of 61 was Team Pazdur consisting of Terry Pazdur, Greg Puccio, Roger Boris and Tom Sestito. Finishing third with a score of 63 was Team Cooper Kia consisting of Pat Stacy, Juan Canalda, Jeff Miga and Joe Miga.
In the National Division with a score of 61 was Team Losowski consisting of Justin Losowski, Dylan Fournier, Thomas Harding and Matt Hughes. Placing second with a score of 63 was Team Tyler Williams consisting of Tyler Williams, Kyle Williams, Brendan Bielby and Josh Reed. Finishing third with a score of 63 was team VanMeter consisting of Bob VanMeter, Leo Capoccia, Paul Boulanger and Andy Spencer.
In the Co-ed Division with a score of 68 was Team Bottini consisting of Nick Bottini, Jean Lovett Shields, Dusty Shields and Doug McCafferty. Placing second with a score of 69 was Team Mastracco consisting of Lynn Mastracco, Kaitlyn Mastracco, Carm Zmudosky, and Kelly Reese.
Winner of the longest drive from the white tees was Sestito. Winner of the longest drive from the gold tees was Kaitlyn Mastracco.
Closest to the pin on hole No. 2 was Korpela at 25 feet; closest to the pin on hole No. 14 was Audrey Copperwheat at 19 feet; closest to the pin on hole No. 14 was VanMeter at 73 inches; closest to the pin on hole No. 16 was Dick Meiss at 33 inches and closest to the pin on hole No. 3 was Puccio at 10 feet.
Skins competition hole No. 3 with a score of 3 was Team Martin consisting of Bob Rieck, Jack Drumm, Paul Panek and Kris Schneeberg; skins competition hoe No. 11 with a score of 3 was Team Pazdur consisting of Pazdur, Puccio, Boris and Sestito; and skins competition hole No. 10 with a score of 3 was Team Korpela consisting of Korpela, Coe, Tardugno and Vitalone.
Awarding of prizes and a dinner followed the tournament.
The tournament was under the direction of Stan “Buddy” Evans, Bill Fleet, Dave Sbaraglia, Rick Cooke, Darrell Thomas, Tommy Dunn and the executive board of the Rome Sports Hall of Fame.
