Utica to host first ‘Soul Sisters Movement’ event

Posted

UTICA — The Utica Love, Soul Sisters Movement Event will be held Friday and Saturday, Aug. 16 and 17, at Sicken@624, 624 Varick St., Utica.

Organizers said the movement is meant to be an experience of unity between women. The family-friendly event will bring together talented female artists, musicians and speakers.

What is a soul sister? She is a woman whose thoughts, feelings and attitude closely match those of another kindred spirit.

The Utica Love, Soul Sisters Movement will be a place to celebrate women, view and purchase art, listen to sisters sing, and speak. Organizers said they hope the movement will be the catalyst to new creative collisions with powerful women in the community.

As part of the event, there will be the work of 20-plus artists on display, in addition to artisan vendors that will offer a wide variety of handmade items, art, henna, crystals and more. Online at: www.facebook.com/uticalove
