Utica City FC splits pair


Utica City FC rolled to an 8-5 victory over the St. Louis Ambush Saturday night. Jan. 19, then lost 9-6 to the Kansas City Comets Sunday, Jan. 20 for a weekend split in Missouri.

On Saturday, Slavisa Ubiparipovic, Joey Tavernese and Nate Bourdeau all scored twice. Mohamed Kenawy and Logan Roberts chipped in goals of their own and Andrew Coughlin made eight saves to secure the win.

On Sunday, Ben Ramin’s hat trick wasn’t enough. Tavernese scored a pair of goals and Bo Jelovac chipped in a goal as well. Coughlin finished with 16 saves in the loss.

Utica heads to Harrisburg Friday night, Jan. 25 for a match with the Heat.

The team returns to the Utica Aud on Sunday afternoon, Jan. 27 against the Orlando SeaWolves.
