UTICA — Utica Mayor Robert Palmieri has announced the second annual Utica Summer Fest.
The success of last year’s Summer Fest has allowed the event to grow in 2019, when it will be held primarily around the State Office Building, 207 Genesee St.
This year’s Summer Fest will feature a “streamlined event,” with a focus on entertainment, “all food Utica,” and a selection of tasty brews.
The Utica Summer Fest will kick off summer with a stage lineup for two full days of local and regional music, highlighted with national headliner Rare Earth.
“I am pleased that Utica Summer Fest will be coming back for a secon year,” said Mayor Palmieri. “Last year’s even exceeded expectations and we are excited to build upon that success. I encourage everyone to attend and enjoy this family friendly event as it highlights so many positive things about our community.”
“Bringing people downtown is a wonderful way to kick off the summer,” opined Commissioner of the state Office of General Services, Roann Destito. “I hope people will stop by the Utica State Office Building to enjoy the music from our plaza.”
“Utica Summer Fest is the biggest little block party in the Mohawk Valley,” said Gina Scampone, owner of the Event Co. “It was a priority to extend the hours this year and cater to our downtown business crowd during our daytime hours. Slating music that stretches decades makes Utica Summer Fest something for everyone to enjoy throughout the day and well into the evening this year. We want everyone to come, eat, enjoy the food and beverages.”
She continued: “This event is a greaet experiential marketing platform for out sponsors. It allows them to literally put their message in the hands of their consumers in our community. It’s all about community; residents, businesses, community outreach organizations and government entities, all coming together to celebrate all that is good in Utica.
Utica Summer Fest will run from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday, June 13 and Friday, June 14 with Rare Earth scheduled to perform Friday evening.
Utica Summer Fest is presented by Adirondack Bank, Frank Mastrovito with FX Caprara and Michelob Ultra, with sponsor support from the city of Utica and in-kind support from the state Office of General Services.
