Kirkland Library ‘community resource’ that needs community’s support

On May 21 the residents of the Town of Kirkland will have an opportunity to vote on a budget to support the Kirkland Town Library.

My wife and I will be voting, “Yes,” because the KTL has been an important part of our family life for over 45 years.  Our children were avid readers from an early age and regular visitors to the library. My wife and I continue to check out books, increasingly in electronic formats, and attend presentations and exhibits hosted by the library. The services provided by the staff of the KTL are broad in scope and high in quality.

Access to electronic materials has been made easy!  Recently I put an ebook on reserve (since all copies had been checked out).  When the book was available, I was notified by email.  I then borrowed it, read and returned it – all from a thousand miles away when we were on vacation – just one example of a great service offered through the KTL.

Finally, the library building provides a convenient gathering place for members of our community helping to support our social infrastructure.  The KTL is a wonderful community resource that deserves our support.
