GAIF hosts 12th annual Ranger Run

FRANKFORT — The Great American Irish Festival will host its 12th annual Ranger Run starting at 8:30 a.m. Sunday, July 28 at the Herkimer County Fairgrounds.

Back for the second year will be the Ranger Kids Half-Mile starting at 8 a.m. Both races will be sponsored by The Sneaker Store in New Hartford. There will be prizes for those who wear their best Irish outfit.

Instead of a traditional 5K, runners will run 3.115 miles. The run is held in honor of State Police Trooper Tim Sullivan who passed away in 2007 while out on a run. His shield number was 3115, and the race length honors him with an extra 0.015 miles.

This race is un-timed and T-shirts are not included with registration, but may be purchased for $10.

Advanced Online Registration (Recommended): Cost is $25 and includes a beverage token to be used at the festival; admission to the festival on Sunday (your bib is your ticket); and custom T-shirt. To register, go online to
