French soprano, violinist performs at MWPAI Feb. 10

UTICA — Soprano and violinist Solène LeVan, a member of the LeVan Family Musicians of Alsace, France who moved to the United States in 2003, headlines a free concert presented by the B Sharp Music Club at 3 p.m. Feb. 10 Sinnott Family Bank of Utica Auditorium at Munson Williams Proctor Arts Institute.

LeVan will present solo voice pieces by composers Ernest Charles, Gaetano Donizetti, and Giacomo Puccini and violin pieces by Manuel Maria Ponce and Antonín Dvorák. She will join heldentenor Jon Frederic West in duets by Henry Purcell, Giuseppe Verdi and Claudio Monteverdi. West will present solo selections by Norman Dello Joio, Ben Moore, Rodolfo Falvo, and “The Star of the County Down” by Herbert Hughes. The duo will be accompanied by pianist Sar-Shalom Strong.

Bass-baritone Peter J. Costianes will present music by Franz Schubert and selections from “On A Clear Day You Can See Forever;” trumpetist Michael DiMeo will present an arrangement of Concert Rondo by Mozart; Strong will present music by Beethoven and Tchaikovsky; and harpist Jessica Wilbee will present selections from Images 4e Suite by Marcel Tournier.
