Clinton native Gregg Burmaster is headed to the Fort Wayne Komets of the ECHL.

Last week he ended his college career as the senior captain at Utica College.

Burmaster, 24, a forward, helped Utica win the NCAA III Championship in 2017-18.

This season Burmaster led the Pioneers in scoring with 20 goals, 26 assists and 46 points in 29 games before earning All-American Team honors during the postseason.

The Komets, an affiliate of the NHL’s Vegas Golden Knights, play tonight on the road against the Kalamazoo Wings, part of the Vancouver Canucks system just below the Utica Comets.
