Clinton man dies from injuries suffered in motorcycle accident

NEW HARTFORD — A 22-year-old Clinton man has died more than a month after a serious motorcycle accident in New Hartford.

Andrew H. Maxam succumbed to his injuries on Saturday, Feb. 22, according to his obituary.

Police said Maxam was northbound on Route 5 in New Hartford at about 2:52 p.m. Jan. 14 when he lost control of his motorcycle and struck the center guide rail. Police said Maxam was thrown off his bike and was later air-lifted in critical condition to University Hospital in Syracuse.

According to his obituary, Maxam was a 2016 graduate of Clinton Central School and worked at Jury Lawn Care in Clinton. He is survived by his parents, Doug and Patti Maxam, and his brother, Tommy.

Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 27 at Owens-Pavlott & Rogers Funeral Service at 35 College St. in Clinton. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 28 at the funeral home.
