TOWN OF KIRKLAND — The Clinton-Kirkland Climate Smart Communities Task Force will present a draft climate-related Vulnerability Assessment for the Clinton and Kirkland communities at an on-line forum on Thursday, Nov. 19, at 7 p.m., the group has announced.
The assessment, which is being conducted by students from Hamilton College under the direction of Professor Aaron Strong, identifies and quantifies risks posed to the community by climate change.
The assessment was informed by community concerns discussed in an earlier on-line public meeting held in October.
During the first half of Thursday’s meeting, student researchers will present their findings.
Attendees will then have time to ask questions, clarify the
findings and methods used, and suggest changes or additions to the assessment.
The final Vulnerability Assessment should be complete by the end of December and will be available on the Clinton-Kirkland Climate Smart Communities Task Force website.
The meeting will be held via Zoom. Pre-registration is required. Visit the Clinton-Kirkland Climate Smart Communities Task Force website at kirklandclintonclimatesmart.org for more information or register directly at: hamilton.zoom.us/meeting/register/tJctdOihqTktGtNT93lmrFwh3tesBKT2g_eG.
